The Writing Center

This website is run by the University of North Carolina, and it provides some really good resources on a range of writing topics. While some of the handouts are geared more toward college-level writing, there are many (especially related to grammar) that would be understood by and useful for middle and high school students as well.

Grammar Bytes

This site provides grammar instruction in fun ways. It has videos, quizzes, activities, and more spanning many different (and sometimes difficult) grammar rules.

Paper Rater

This site will proofread your papers and provide feedback on how to improve your writing.

Grammar Girl

"Your friendly guide to the world of grammar, punctuation, usage, and fun developments in the English language."

Language Arts Games

This site provides tons of different games for students to play that will help strengthen their vocabular, grammar, spelling, etc.

Language Arts Links

This page has many different links for middle and high school language arts students. It provides links to online texts, activities, guides, and more. 

Purdue OWL

The Online Writing Lab (OWL) at Purdue University houses writing resources and instructional material. Students, members of the community, and users worldwide will find information to assist with many writing projects.

Study Island

This is a site we use at school all the time! It provides lessons and practice for students in every subject area.

Easy Bib

This website is a great source for creating citations! If you enter your book, website, or article title it will search its database for you and create your citation. If it can't find your source it will help you create it yourself. You will use this ALL the time in college!
